As part of the renovation of the listed Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium, the courtyard building was also renovated in accordance with the conditions of monument law. It is a three-storey school building with a full basement in masonry construction dating from 1906-1907.
The top floor was extensively renovated and new classrooms created.
